DESCRIPTION:The One Seattle Day of Service turns the values behind Mayor Harrell’s vision for One Seattle – inclusion\, collaboration\, cooperation\, and service – into shared action and improvement for our City. \nMayor Harrell\, local leaders\, and thousands of volunteers will join together for the Day of Service on Saturday May 18\, 2024. \nThe event is an invitation to every neighbor to roll up their sleeves\, come together\, and give back with volunteer opportunities in each neighborhood across the city. \nJoining together a diverse group of public\, private\, and non-profit partners and organizations\, the City will provide a wide array of service opportunities including cleaning and beautification\, gardening and restoration\, helping neighbors in need\, and more. \nTrish Lambert\, ambassador for the Magnolia Chamber\, will be heading up the clean up project in Magnolia. Some tools will be provide but feel free to bring your own weeding\, sweeping and general lawn maintenance tools. Open to families with young kids as long as supervised.

DESCRIPTION:We have a great Mother’s Day event planned with a jewelry theme. It’s more like paint-your-own\, but we’re splitting into two groups\, one that will make use of finely crafted pieces created by one of our staff\, and he’ll be teaching more advanced techniques. The other group will be for younger kids and novices\, decorating necklace pendants that are less fragile. All pieces will be fired and returned as necklaces and earrings with sterling silver findings. It should work well for families. When kids are done painting pieces\, we’ll keep them busy with air-dry clay\, crafts\, coloring pages\, etc.\, so mom can finish the finer work on her pieces. And if someone is there to play caregiver without making pieces\, there’s no extra charge for that. We’ll provide OJ\, BYO champagne.
