Celebrating 75 Years of the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce

What a Night to Remember …

The beautiful Bell Harbor Conference Center was the place to be on May 11th. The Magnolia Chamber’s annual awards dinner was also a diamond celebration for our organization, marking its 75th year of serving local businesses and our community. Over 200 attendees – a record for the Magnolia Chamber – enjoyed networking and camaraderie on a beautiful spring evening, with gorgeous views of Puget Sound, Bell Harbor, and the Olympic Mountains!

We sincerely thank the Port of Seattle, our Diamond sponsor, for providing a beautiful venue and for helping to create a memorable program. We also deeply appreciate Holland America’s support as our Gold sponsor. Many thanks to our Silver sponsors, Veterinary Emergency Group, Queen Anne Painting, Gaspars Construction, and Vineyard Park at Queen Anne Manor.

The evening began with guests enjoying the musical talents of The Plums, a local band that welcomed attendees as they checked in. After a delicious dinner prepared and served by Bell Harbor Conference’s talented and gracious in-house culinary and catering team, our guests were delighted to celebrate the award winners, including:

A special Unsung Hero award was presented to Lisa Page Ramey for her years of volunteering her artistic talent and creativity. The chamber’s Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Trish Lambert; the Person of the Year went to Will Bailey; and the Magnolia Chamber’s Volunteer Excellence Award was given to Kathie Claypool. In other categories, the Chamber’s Innovator of the Year was awarded to Corvus Energy; the Nonprofit of the Year went to the Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Market; and the coveted Business of the Year was presented by the Honorable Sam Cho, Port of Seattle Commissioner, to the Seattle Storm.

Kudos and thanks galore to the award dinner planning team, who did yeoman’s work producing and executing a great event: Kinley Bishop, Cheryl McQuiston, Taylor Wellnitz, Elizabeth Scott, and Kathie Claypool. Thank you as well to the volunteers who assisted the planning team on the night of the event, including Kelda Fairleigh, Peter Spurging, Amanda Grover, Mike Allen, Colleen Cook, and Claire Farrington. Thank you as well to all our awardees and guests, who made the evening one for the memory books.
