Chamber Community Initiatives
The Magnolia Chamber of Commerce works to strengthen our community by developing many local initiatives with businesses and community members.
Love Local
We take pride in Magnolia’s independently run local businesses. Our Love Local campaign is dedicated to reminding Magnolia community members to invest in our neighborhood by supporting local shops, restaurants, pubs, bakeries, cafes, salons, and other businesses that bring life to our community and strengthen our local economy. Check out our directory for local businesses to support.
Magnolia Village Beautification Project
The Magnolia Village Beautification Project enhances the main streets and improves attractiveness and safety of the streetscapes in the core of Magnolia Village. Phase I of the beautification project was completed in the summer of 2020 thanks to the generosity of over 200 private donors and a competitive grant from the city of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. The project, which includes four more phases, enhances livability, sustainability, and commerce while increasing neighbors interactions and creating a unique look and feel to the shopping and service district.
Advocacy Efforts
We advance issues that are important to Magnolia businesses and the community. This includes supporting smart investments and community-oriented policies that foster compatible economic growth and encourage local, sustainable competitiveness. We focus advocacy efforts at the neighborhood, city, county, state and federal levels. We join with the Magnolia Community Council in hosting candidate forums and working on policy issues important to our community, often in partnership with other community groups and state business associations. We work in strategic coalitions on issues that our members care about; from public safety, to transportation, to smart growth and community life.
Strategic Partnerships
We are always looking for strategic ways to make Magnolia the healthiest, most resilient community in Seattle. We collaborate with local businesses, non-profits, community organizations, other local Chambers, business associations, Seattle police, city and county officials and departments, private and public school district administrators and teachers, and families and friends of the Magnolia Chamber to make our community a great place to live, work, and thrive. Art Walk, Summerfest, the community art mural, annual holiday light display, and reciprocal membership with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce are just a few examples of how we partner to expand our impact, improve Magnolia, and create synergies for our membership.
