As a grocery store, it’s our job to serve our community, especially during these uncertain times. We want Metropolitan Market to be a safe place for you to shop, and also a place where our team members can come to work and feel safe too. Many of you have reached out to us to ask how you can help — and that’s why we value each of you so much. We’ve put together some helpful tips for what you can do to help keep our team members safe, and protect yourself and fellow shoppers.

  • Create safe shopping space
Please maintain a healthy six feet of distance from your fellow shoppers, and from our team members. Use the red circular markers placed throughout the store and at checkout as guides.

  • Leave your reusable bags at home
For the time being, we have suspended the use of reusable bags in order to better protect our team members and customers.

  • Have a dedicated shopper
While we know this isn’t always possible, please try to limit the number of people who do your household shopping. Shopping in groups, even if it’s just your family, makes it harder to create social distancing space within the store.

  • Limit your store time
Less time in the store means less contact with other people.

  • Wash your hands
We’re all hand-washing pros by now—keep it up!

  • Play it safe
If you aren’t feeling well or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 as defined by the CDC (fever, cough, shortness of breath), we ask that you stay home and take care of yourself. Please take advantage of delivery services or have a healthy household member tackle the shopping. We promise to still be here when you feel better.

Covid-19 update and a thank you gift!

Hi,

I hope you all are staying healthy. Given the current Covid-19 situation and the guidance from Washington State we have temporarily closed Unravel. We are hoping to re-open again on April 9. I understand that this is not ideal for many of us, who depend on massage or acupuncture for chronic pain and to relief stress and anxiety

As a thank you for supporting us during this hard time, we would like to give you a 20% discount for Unravel Gift cards. Just go to this link and use the code UNRAVEL. After we reopen you will be able to use the gift card for any type of service or store purchase. But hurry, this discount expires April 9!

We are still taking calls for reservations and billing questions. You can call us at (206) 283 9910.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again. Stay healthy!

Magnolia Bookstore is considered essential and will remain open.

web 3/24 –

We are still open!!

Governor Inslee’s decree exempts media-related businesses; and, to quote a letter written by Rebecca Fitting, co-owner of Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, New York, to Governor Cuomo, “bookstores now serve as one of the last resources for [Seattle’s] students and families to access education materials.  In addition, we also provide both children and adults with home education and entertainment materials which are a necessity during these long periods of social distancing and isolation.”

We will continue to offer take-out service and free delivery in Magnolia, as well as browsing for short time periods and limited to 5 people in the store at one time.  We are operating with a skeleton crew and practice the utmost diligence in cleanliness and sanitizing.

Thank you for your support and we’re proud to offers ours to our community.

We are an independent general bookstore serving the local community since 1992. We offer a thoughtfully chosen selection of books for all ages, and a surprising depth of inventory that will keep you interested but never overwhelmed.

We offer free gift wrapping, frequent buyer rewards, gift certificates in any amount, and an experienced, knowledgeable staff eager to recommend and talk about all kinds of books. We have recommendations posted throughout the store; please check out recent ones on the Recommendations page.

We don’t offer online ordering, but if you wish to contact us online or after-hours, please send us an e-mail, and we’ll hold the book you want, or—if it’s not in stock—let you know how fast we can get it for you (usually within a day or two). Shipping available.

Thank you for your support of our independent bookstore!

We will be in store tomorrow for your last minute needs before closing Wednesday afternoon. We’re wrapping things up and filming videos in the back room for our IG and FB followers. It’s with a heart full of gratitude and the knowledge that we’re all in this together that I say farewell to our normal operation and put my best foot forward in the direction of a new form of doing business! Bright days ahead friends, thank you so much for sticking with your Village merchants.

Closed, offering refunds for scheduled appointments

We tried to get creative, keep you safe, and to keep ourselves going but Gov. Inslee’s order means we must shut down. For those who scheduled and paid for appointments and ordered online, we will refund you. We will be talking with our staff on next steps and what it means for them and to help them get the benefits they need. Our small business community is working hard and many will be facing tough decisions in the coming weeks. We will take this one day by day. Btw, Denton says hello. 🙂
