CARES Act: Applications open TODAY 4/3 + other updates

IMPORTANT UPDATES ON CARES ACT – NEW INFORMATION, APPLICATIONS OPEN TODAY, APRIL 3RD

The Magnolia Chamber of Commerce has been using our website, emails and social media to connect our small businesses members with resources related to the CARES Act and the Small Business Administration (SBA) loan and grant relief programs during this difficult time.

Please note that as of Thursday, April 2nd, SBA has finalized guidance for the highly anticipated Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Although the early release of documents from the U.S. Treasury states that applications open TODAY – April 3, please note that SBA lenders are receiving this information at the same time. As such, many of the SBA lenders (shareable PDF attached), may not be able to answer questions and immediately accept their first applications as of tomorrow.

Just updated on the website are new financing pages that link from www.sba.gov/coronavirus. As you can see from the screenshot below, it’s a nice summary of funding options. Because there are so many moving parts, many are recommending the directing applicants to www.sba.gov/coronavirus any new info will link up from there. We also strongly encourage you to contact your banker.

How we came to be…

Fishermen’s Green Market Deli was established on September 14, 2012 by Stefani Stefonick and Joseph Arya. The Market/Deli was a shared vision based on a holistic natural/organic lifestyle.

Joseph has a culinary degree and with his passion for food it was a given he would be able to create the most amazing sandwiches and salads. Stefani with her passion for natural remedies and a healthy lifestyle, it only seemed perfect to offer tinctures and holistic remedies as an alternative for those who choose natural and for those sensitive to pharmaceuticals for wellness needs. Together they decided this was the perfect combination to offer their friends, families and community. With the love and support of friends, family and the community their dream has become a reality.

Family First ToolKit

The U.S. House of Representatives Democratic Caucus has created a helpful compilation – or toolkit – of the benefits found within the three specific, and unprecedented pieces of legislation passed since the COVID-19 outbreak has gripped the nation and stalled the economy:

  • The Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act

  • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act

  • The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Combined, the new laws provide economic stimulus and immediate financial lifelines for families. They also establish new benefits and provisions for workers, and importantly, create new tools for small businesses to meet payroll and other expenses. Elements provide relief for students and schools.

The toolkit not only helps in understanding the new benefits that are available to individuals, communities, and the small business sector, but links to access the benefits.

The Families First Coronavirus Constituent Service Resource Toolkit will help you understand all the benefits that are available to you and your community — and how to access them.
